Little-Known TV Fact
When TVs first appeared, it was not uncommon for people to sit directly in front of them day and night to make sure they [the 'TV people'] did not disappear. -from Stratu's 'Research Notes' vol. XXIII
That was true for some people. The first tv set in our neighborhood, Little Okie in the Airport district in Modesto, Ca, was bought by Pop Hampton, the Grandpa of a friend of mine. It was in 1946, I think. He watched wrestling religiously and once a week, allowed a bunch of us kids to come into his house and watch with him. It was a blast! He chewed and smoked Cottonbowl Twist tobacco and died at age 104.
